Removal/Trapping

When rodents gain access into a home it often goes unnoticed for a period of time. This is because they typically choose areas that see little to no human activity.  Once the rodents or wildlife choose an area they will create a nest and begin to reproduce.  This increases the severity of infestations. It is crucial to implement an effective trapping program as soon as possible to halt population growth and to remove current rodents from the home.

All species fall under two categories (wildlife/non-wildlife).  Species that fall under wildlife will be removed through a live trapping program and are either safely relocated or rehabilitated. Common species that fall under the category of "wildlife" are raccoons, opossum, squirrel, bats, armadillos, native reptiles, snakes, and native birds. Species that fall under "non-wildlife" are considered any animal that is not native to Florida. These species include roof/fruit rats, common mice.  Because these animals are not native to our environment and it is important that we prevent them from being reintroduced into our fragile ecosystem. All non-native species are dispatched as humanly as possible.

Whether your situation requires live trapping or kill traps The Rodent Pros pride themselves in maintaining a 100% success rate with all of our customers.  We implement conventional and non-conventional methods to achieve our goal in leaving you pest free and protected.

Exclusion

After implementing a trapping program the next step is closing all entry points into the home.  The problem is that rodents are able to gain access into the home.  It is important to locate the current points of entry, but also any weak spots that might become a problem in the future.

In order to identify all the areas of concern, a thorough inspection of the entire home (perimeter, roof, attic, crawlspace, living space, yard, garage) must  be performed.

Once the inspection is done and the open entry points are identified we can close those areas off using high grade materials. The majority of exclusion companies rely heavily on spray foam because it is relatively cheap and can be applied to the majority of open voids. However, due to the fact that it breaks down over time and stands out.  At the Rodent Pros we use higher grade materials that will not diminish the value of your home.

Remediation & Sanitation

The final step in the process is repairing any damage caused by rodents and sanitize the infected area.

The Rodent Pros use a DSV grade sanitizer that is dispersed through a commercial grade fogging machine. We also offer complete attic restorations which include, removal of old  contaminated insulation and it is replaced with new insulation.

The Rodent Pros will enable you to feel safer and have a cleaner home.

Yes, rats are considered unsanitary when they infest homes. Here are some reasons why

-Disease transmission Rats are known carriers of various diseases that can be harmful to humans. They can transmit diseases directly through their droppings, urine, and saliva, as well as indirectly through parasites like fleas and ticks that infest them. Some of the diseases associated with rats include leptospirosis, hantavirus, salmonellosis, and rat-bite fever.

-Contamination Rats contaminate surfaces and food with their droppings, urine, and hair. These substances can spread bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens, posing a risk to human health. Contaminated food can cause food poisoning and other illnesses if consumed.

-Allergies and asthma Rat droppings and dander can trigger allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Exposure to these allergens can lead to respiratory problems, such as asthma attacks and allergic rhinitis.

-Property damage Rats have a strong need to gnaw on objects to keep their teeth from growing too long. In homes, they may chew on electrical wiring, insulation, furniture, and other household items, causing damage and creating fire hazards.

-Odor and hygiene issues The presence of rats can result in foul odors due to their droppings, urine, and nesting materials. These odors can be persistent and difficult to eliminate, affecting the overall hygiene and livability of a home.
