1. Peppermint Oil

Description:

  • Peppermint oil has a strong scent that rats and mice find overwhelming and unpleasant.

Usage:

  • Soak cotton balls in peppermint oil and place them in areas where rodents are likely to enter or travel, such as near doors, windows, and suspected entry points.
  • Refresh the cotton balls with more oil every few days to maintain the strong scent.

2. Essential Oils

Description:

  • Other essential oils like eucalyptus, citronella, and clove oil also have strong odors that can repel rodents.

Usage:

  • Mix a few drops of essential oil with water in a spray bottle and spray around entry points and in areas where rodents are active.
  • Reapply the solution every few days.

3. Cayenne Pepper

Description:

  • The spicy scent of cayenne pepper can deter rodents.

Usage:

  • Sprinkle cayenne pepper around the perimeter of your home, in gardens, and in areas where you've noticed rodent activity.
  • Combine cayenne pepper with water and a few drops of dish soap to create a spray that can be applied to surfaces.

4. Garlic

Description:

  • Garlic has a pungent smell that can repel rodents.

Usage:

  • Crush garlic cloves and place them in areas where rodents are active.
  • Create a garlic spray by boiling crushed garlic in water and spraying the solution around entry points and rodent pathways.

5. Onions

Description:

  • Onions have a strong odor that can deter rodents, but they can be toxic to pets if ingested.

Usage:

  • Place slices of onions in areas where rodents are active. Ensure they are out of reach of pets.
  • Replace the onions every few days as they dry out and lose their potency.

6. Ammonia
